For over 10 years, BESTAgency has had the honor of producing the Las Vegas JDRF Hope Gala. BESTAgency began its journey with JDRF in 2008, and since then has been able to grow the event to a grand scale. Through our efforts we assisted JDRF in reaching their record breaking 1 million dollar goal, and have continued to reach that goal and exceed it since.
JDRF has truly become close to our hearts at BESTAgency. Our CEO, Ken Henderson, became a board member for JDRF, and then President of the Board. Not long following, Gwyn Lloyd-Hughes, our Senior Vice- President, was asked to join the board as well. This year, Gwyn will be receiving the Community Outreach Volunteer of the Year Award for Southern Nevada for her efforts with JDRF in helping to find a cure for diabetes. “ The Hope Gala is very close to my heart,” said Vice President Hughes, “My Niece was Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 4, I have seen the struggles first hand, but also the resilience and bravery of those affected by it.”
Every year in May, as the Hope Gala rolls around, BESTAgency works diligently to ensure it is the pinnacle of events. The BESTAgency team works around the clock, in preparation and planning, to produce the entire event. From decorations and layout, to performers and live auctions, this event has it all. This year, being especially noteworthy, with host Jeff Civillico, and special performances by: Rope trickster, Loop Rawlins, from Cirque De Soleil “Viva Elvis”, and Tony Marques Country Band. Featuring a silent auction with high-quality items, and fun activities like corn hole and a 360 photo booth!
We are proud to introduce this year’s JDRF Hope Gala honorees, the Adams Family. The Adams Family is three generations of Las Vegas legacy. It all started July 3, 1964, the day Don and Lois Adams moved to Las Vegas. Don had brought a load of horses from Utah and saw the business potential for construction. The Adams Family have been generous donors to many institutions over the years and their support of JDRF has taken on a new urgency. Weston and Shelley Adams have been affected in their lives by type 1 diabetes in multiple ways. They have three immediate family members with T1D, including their daughter Brighton who was diagnosed in 2020. In Honor of the Adams Family and all they have done in support for a cure, this years theme is dedicated to their western roots. We are proud to invite you to the JDRF Spur The Cure, honoring the Adams Family.
